Just In Time
Just In Time (JIT) includes the Lean terms and processes “producing to Takt”, “continuous flow”, “pull”, “quick changeover” and ‘integrated logistics’.
On a production line, Takt Time usually means the dwell time at each process stage. When each process takes the same time, there is no unnecessary queuing or downtime, and the production rate is consistent.
Search out the irregular Takt Times stages, and find out why they are slower than others. Re-balance the work activity, and efficiency increases. Take 30 seconds off the Takt Time for each process, and your production rate increases productivity by almost 1%.
